It’s always the best part of summer. The first strawberry picking of the season. All three of us look forward to it with great enthusiasm. We’ve been checking the fields almost every time we drive past them. Yesterday, the strawberries were just perfect for the picking.
Tom and I packed Soeren and his two friends in the car and filled with excitement and anticipation we made up a fantasy world filled with strawberry dreams on the way to the field.
Once there the first thing we did was fill our greedy stomachs with plenty of the juicy ripe berries, only after that did we have the energy to fill our baskets.
We came home with these gorgeous, red, juicy and scrumptiously sweet strawberries. While my mind is exploding with ideas of how to put the 2kgs of strawberries to good use, let me share a few with you.
This month Click is looking for stacks of food. Stacks of horizontal, vertical, piled or heaped food or food related items is the motive for this month. This picture is perfect for the theme – luscious strawberry stacks.
- Camera: Nikon D70s
- Lens: Nikkor 18-70mm
- Tripod: Bilora 1211
- Focal Length: 56 mm
- Exposure Time: 1/100 sec
- Aperture: f/5.0
- Lighting: Natural light from right using white bounce from left
- Photoshop touchups: Adding a new layer and setting it to “screen” mode, reducing the opacity to approx. 20%. This brings in natural light to the shot. Then adding a duplicate layer and setting it to “soft light”, which gently increases the contrast. Finally adjusting the hue/saturation to make the red pop.
Have a great weekend!
