The London Loot – A Sneak Preview

The London Loot by MeetaK

Back from London and I am coming down hard. This time the trip to London was a lot more than the Food Blogger Connect. It was a reunion of the explosive kind. There are many stories to tell and emotions to be sorted out.

As I sit here, back in Weimar, going through the multitude of impressions and photographs of the incredible weekend, I thought I’d give you a sneak peak of what a girl comes back with when she goes to London to meet up with her friends, speak at a conference and then shops her way through London. This is just half of the loot, I got.

There were gifts and goodie bags, shopping sprees at Laduree and Fortnum & Mason’s. Curry cooking and wine drinking, Macaron testing and rugby men watching, chatting till the wee hours and waking up to giggles and more chatter. And all this was not even part of the official conference.

So give me a bit till I get all this sorted and I’ll be back with those studmuffins macarons, more scoop on the Food Blogger Connect and the Spice Girls!

  6. I must clarify that not one of us exceeded her check in baggage limit but we all thanked our lucky stars that there is no weight limit on carry on. But I have to say that right now my heart is as heavy as our suitcases were yesterday. We brought home more than just goodies: unforgettable memories and friendships as deep as the sea. And I got to share a bed with What's For Lunch Honey?! Well, that was some amazing slumber party at Cook Sister HQ!

  15. I see Meeta. So this is a trick to make people who didn't attend feel bad... :( Dang it... Sigh! Just makes me feel like I just should have skipped the work and attended this.

Well... photos and videos and everything seems to have turned out awesome.

  22. I was so paranoid about Ryanair (boo! :)) that I didn't actually bring that much stuff back with me from FBC. I also didn't leave enough time for shopping in London, though, on reflection, perhaps that was a good thing!

  23. Oh Meeta,

I totally get it when you say you're coming down hard! I feel like I've just crashed back in reality and all I want to do is cook, eat, laugh with fellow foodies and take photos of it all! The rain and grim weather don't really help this state of mind! It seems like last weekend was a dream.. But what a great one that was! Super lovely to meet you! And I can't insist enough how I love that necklace of yours! :)

By the way, I was meaning to ask you: do you know any food bloggers in Berlin? I'm going there next week and wanted to get some top tips from our little supercool subculture (we're all secret superheroes, aren't we?!)

All the best, and let's definitely stay in touch!

    Anne

  26. After all the passionate dedication...you all deserve it. What a very nice group. Right about now I'm on the envy train ;o)
Hopefully, I'll one day also get to enjoy such a fantastic event.
Can't wait to read all about it.
    Flavourful wishes, Claudia

  29. Just got back from London and didn't bring enough back. Regretting it after this post :). I did bring back Heinz baked beans - tough find in the US but a childhood favorite from growing up in Asia!
