It started to snow on Monday. Big, fluffy flakes, so that now Weimar is under a slightly light white blanket. But it’s not going to stay for too long. The melt has already started, creating wet slushy roads and against a dull, grey backdrop the trees have lost the last of their colorful leaves.

Hello Winter!

Foodies of the World: I’ve been Published and A Winner

Foodies of the World

Time is moving so fast. I said that a few days ago, didn’t I? But what I am loving is that there are so many things happening in my life right now that I can pretty much mark time with milestones.

I’ve shared many of them with you in the past several months and having you motivate me and cheer me on has been exceptional. Well I’ve got a little more to share with you.

Let me present to you Foodies of the World, an exceptional cookbook featuring some incredible recipes from exceptional food blogs around the world. This book has been put together with a lot of love by Slattery Media Group, with an elegant cover design, crisp matt paper and high quality images. Each blogger is highlighted with a personal biography, their recipes illustrated with delicious photographs, all coming together to make a spectacular “guide to the best on the web”. The best they truly are: fantastic bloggers like Ilva from Lucullian Delights; Jeanne of Cook Sister;  Hilda of Saffron & Blueberry; Julia from A Slice of Cherry Pie; Denise and Laudalino of Chez Us; Jaden from Steam Kitchen; Leemei of My Cooking Hut; Julia of Mélanger (To Mix); and Bea of La Tartine Gourmande and so many more are part of this book and I hold my breath as I tell you – yes I am too.

The book features over 100 recipes and 2 of them are from me! I wanted to highlight my Indian roots and selected 2 of my favorite Indian dishes. Foodies of the World can be purchased here and will make the perfect Christmas present that you will cherish for a long time.

I am also really excited to reveal the winner of my Hotel Chocolat giveaway: First off: I so enjoyed reading about the variety of chocolates that makes your world rock. There were some great comments and loved your stories. But there can be only one winner ….

Macs_0006-300px…. a box of Signature Dark Chocolate Collection from Hotel Chocolat goes out to CMorgetstern of Galerie Morgenstern in Göttingen, Germany. So, if CMorgenstern can contact me with your address details, it would be my absolute pleasure to pass it on to the folks at Hotel Chocolat. Congratulations!

I wish you a fabulous weekend. I’m flying to Munich tomorrow to work on a very exciting project – I’ll be developing flavors and scents for a Client and presenting some of my ideas. One of the ideas are these macarons you see here. I can’t reveal much about the project but I will reveal what flavor combination these macarons were all about when I return.

Wish me luck and be good while I’m gone!

Mussels Creamy Garlic Sauce (0022) by Meeta K. Wolff
My father was often away. Traveling the globe to different locations, sometimes far off and exotic other times close to home and familiar, it was a normal way of life for my parents. Before we actually became school going kids, my mother would jet set with him spending a few weeks, maybe a few months depending on how she liked the place my dad was in.

Can someone press pause, please? I mean on this thing called time! It seems to be stuck in fast forward all the time and I see the days zooming past me at a million miles an hour. In case you had not realized it’s already the second week of November.

“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you might get!”
These words by Tom Hanks’ character Forrest Gump branded my brain intensely. It made me sit up and look deeper into my life.

Ras El Hanout Tagine (0010) by Meeta K. Wolff

The blustery days of Autumn, blowing leaves in shades of burnt orange and gold make me happy. The mornings are crisp and clean. Walking barefooted out into our back yard early morning, the coffee cup in my hand steaming white puffs in the cool air and the moist dew against my feet give me that needed moment of serenity before I jump into my day.
