We met in Weimar

We’ll always have Weimar. It was surreal and I am still collecting and ordering my thoughts for the weekend gone. Plate to Page came and with a click of the camera button and a stroke of a pen it disappeared. The four of us - Ilva, Jeanne, Jamie and I, had had this vision for a long time and after almost a year in planning, organizing, fretting and frustrations, I think it would be safe to say the first Plate to Page Workshop in Weimar was an amazing event.

As I mentioned above I am still gathering all my emotions and thoughts of this past weekend. I will leave you with a few wordless photos of not only a great weekend but with this group below - our first Plate to Page participants. A group so dedicated and immensely motivated that as one of the four instructors it was a pure pleasure for me to have had the opportunity to work with them.

I’ll share many more impressions in the days to come. If you are impatient however, then come on over and check out our new Plate to Page Facebook fanpage, where many of the participants have shared their images and thoughts for the weekend.

Without our incredible sponsors this would not have run so smoothly as it did so a huge thank you to our main sponsor Bord Bia (The Irish Food Board), Wines of South Africa, Hotel Chocolat, Prokit UK, Maison Georges Larnicol, OXO, Ergo Chef Knives, Sweet Pete’s and the lovely Paula Walters. Their generosity allowed us to provide high class gifts to our participants, but they also helped make this fantastic weekend possible!

Now I need to rest my brain and get some sleep. Good night!

  2. It was an amazing weekend! I'm still trying to collect my thoughts as well, but wow was it just awesome in every way I could've ever imagined. Thanks so much to the four of you for making this experience a reality for us. I really don't have words to articulate how much the weekend meant to me, all of it was so incredible.

  7. I was there just for a day and it seemed like a week... I left filled with emotions and such invigorating energies that only a meeting with such incredible new and old friends could cause.

Thanks for letting me eavesdrop and wash the dishes ;)

  8. How I miss you all!! The weekend exceeded every expectation I had and I am incredibly pleased to hear that the participants felt the same way. Was trying in my head to process all that had happened over the weekend as I sat on the plane today (boo hoo!) - such incredible people met and friendships cemented. We will forever be the P2P Weimar class of 2011 :) And thanks to my darling sister-from-another-mother Meeta for letting us take over your house as P2P Instructor HQ - we all got fully into the swing of things and had the time of our lives (again!!)

  14. Oh Meeta,
It is so nice to wake up this morning and read your thoughts and see your photos. I am having trouble myself (imagine me stuck for words!) wrangling with all my emotions and will try to get the whole concept and reality of the weekend into a few blog posts this week. You -- the fab four -- have created a truly unique experience for us all. We have learned so much.
I look forward to our next rendezvous........where ever it may be.
