That’s the way we roll in the summer. Enjoying long lazy days, taking in all that nature offers and spending a lot of time outdoors. It’s been a good summer and I’ve just returned from a most exhilarating, stunning and relaxing vacation. A road trip that took us to 3 destinations through 5 countries and I am dying to tell you about it. And I will as soon as I have decompressed and shifted through the hundreds of photos.
While I do that I am sharing the spirit of my summer here in Weimar with you and give you an idea why I love this little city so much. Each season holds some wonderful visual treasure and I have been taking my camera out with me almost daily to capture some of these lovely sights that I encounter everyday.
Kick off your shoes, pour yourself your favorite drink, get comfy and enjoy summer through my camera.
Summer is vivid colors of a quaint house smiling from behind a curtain of lush green trees
Summer is a lasciviously pouting flower dressed in hot pink waiting to be admired
Summer is when even weeds wink in striking uniqueness reminding you that beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Summer is rolls of hay for rolling in the hay, giving the landscape a distinctive symmetry
Summer is for sidewalk daisies blooming in every nook and cranny and smiling at passer-bys with their naive purity
Summer wears nature’s best colors: wheat yellow, sky blue, forest green all dotted with speckles of poppy red or cirsium violet
Summer also means waiting in line for your favorite street food … what that is shall be revealed later this week
What is summer to you?
I’d love to hear how you are spending your summer days and please share links to your favorite summer images so we can all indulge in some warm summery feeling.
Stay tuned as later this week I’ll share Germany’s favorite street food and will take you behind the scenes of my favorite street food joint here in Weimar.
If you have not heard … this month’s mingle revolves all around Street Food and the Monthly Mingle is being hosted over at Zizi’s Adventures. I’ve already seen some finger licking good entries. If you would like to join us you still have plenty of time as the deadline is 31st August.
