Helsinki Food Styling and Photography Workshop

How does a long Nordic summer weekend in Helsinki sound? Helsinki, a sea-town par excellence and an exciting, dynamic place is a stylish city as it dares to be different. The Design Capital 2012 will be the latest venue for the next Food Photography and Styling workshop and I am thrilled to invite you to join us for a magnificent weekend in Finland's stunning capital!

Once again I am collaborating with my dear friend Simone Van den Berg of Simone's Kitchen, whom I instructed alongside last September in Amsterdam, and the lovely Mari Moilanen of Finland's very popular blog Jotain maukasta. Mari was one of the participants of the Amsterdam workshop and it did not take long for us to put our heads together to plan this workshop.

We have put together a spectacular programme for our participants, where we hope the city's pulsating creativity will inspire us to create innovative works.

We will stimulate your skills with exercises covering the basic and advanced techniques of food styling and photography as well as hands-on intensive assignments, individual guidance and critique from the instructors. Furthermore, the main focus of this workshop will be on light: we will not only be spending a day in the park, in the soft and unique Nordic summer light learning how to harness natural light but we will also intensively cover aspects of artificial lighting using different types of lighting systems in one of Helsinki's hip wine cellar's.

We will work intensively together on honing your food styling and photography skills, with presentations, exercises and assignments, which we will guide and aid you to develop every step of the way.
There will be regional Finnish meals and spectacular Finnish wines to indulge in and a relaxing picnic in the park under the Nordic sun to contemplate and get to know each other.

I hope I have tempted you to join us this June for a fun-filled and intensive 2-day photography and styling workshop in Helsinki, Finland.
