Berlin, my favorite city in Germany, is going to be the awesome venue for the next Food Photography and Styling Workshop and with this workshop it will be the last of my workshops in Europe for 2014.
I am excited to announce a spectacular 2-day workshop near Germany's very trendy capital Berlin. Once again I am collaborating with my talented and experienced friends Simone Van den Berg of Simone's Kitchen and Sand Neumann, both of whom I have worked and instructed with in past workshops and on various projects. We make a sensational and very efficient team and I know that not only do they provide a high standard of know-how but they are bags of fun too.
The three of us have put together an exceptional programme for our participants in a very unique location. Tucked just outside Berlin and surrounded by tranquil lakes and fields, the Landgut Borsig with its sprawling grounds, will house our team for the duration of the workshop. This quaint country estate is the leading sustainable private hotel in Germany and the very first organic certified hotel in Berlin. With access not only to their well equipped training rooms and kitchen, but also to their park and private lake area we have created the perfect atmosphere for many hands-on photography exercises and assignments.
It is important for me that the participants who visit the workshops have an all-round experience and while we will work intensively on honing your skills in the food photography area, we have also tailored the 2 days in such a way so that there will be plenty of entertainment too. We hope to provide you with challenging exercises covering the basic and advanced food styling and photography techniques as well as hands-on intensive assignments, individual guidance and critique from the instructors. But we are not stopping here - we will offer sessions on natural lighting, detailed presentations on styling, creating moods, props and for the first time we are going to be offering a special session on mobile phone photography covering topics like the dos & don'ts, the trends, the skills and what helpful apps are out there.
If you think that is all well grab on to your seats: we are going to be offering a special tabletop styling session were you will work with your hands crafting and designing your own tabletop set-up. There will be a very unique wine-tasting where you will need your ears as much as your tastebuds and we will enjoy a pleasant picnic by the lake.
Make it a date - July in Berlin!

About Simone van den Berg
Simone is a freelance food photographer and food- and travel blogger at Simone’s Kitchen. She has recently written a book on foodphotography (in Dutch) and works internationally for restaurants, catering companies, publishers and brands. She has been giving workshops in the Netherlands for 5 years, starting with a course specifically on shooting cakes but since two years she has a monthly recurring workshop on foodphotography and styling together with stylist Alexandra Schijf. Her portfolio can be found at Fresh Food Photos
About Sandy Neumann
Sandy is an avid food and travel blogger and food photographer, who lives in Jena, Germany. Her heart, however, still resides in her „second home“ – South of France.
She runs the blog Confiture de Vivre where she shares her passion for French inspired recipes, stories of extraordinary people and her approach to life. When she is not trying out new tart recipes you will find her meeting other creative people like her friends the butcher and the baker to create new sausages or bread. Since two years she is really into wine and is always looking for the perfect pairing wine with her dishes.
Sandy has a passion for table top styling, loves crafting and is hooked on mobile phone photography.
