Destination Norway

Norway2010Route

When you read this I will be somewhere on this route between the Hardangerfjord and Bergen. Hopefully enjoying the great weather, relaxing and finding my zen!

I love blogging, more because along the way you meet people that turn out to be the most cherished friends you could have. Also because it brings the world to my doorstep.

Last week when I posted my recipe of lemon and herb risotto with balsamic asparagus, I got a lovely comment from Kjersti of Sukkerungen:

I can't believe that the day after I a) bought a pack of risotto rice, wondering what to make, b) found this fantastic blog and bookmarked it, YOU decide a) to post a risotto recepie, b) to travel to my home country. It's got to be fate! The risotto looks wonderful, and I even think my kids would love this (the boy is rather picky). If you need any help when you are around Bergen, just shout and I'll be there :D

So I did shout and she was there! We have swapped email addresses and mobile numbers. We have set a date to meet with the family in Bergen.

It was Kjersti’s first time to my blog and now I feel a friendship developing. In the few mails we managed to exchange before I left, I saw so many parallels.

So folks I’ll be out of office for another week. Hope you are hanging in there without me!

Hugs!

Awww that's sooo nice! I hope you're having a blast :) Norway is one of my fave places in the world! I actually wrote a "country report" on it in 7th grade and became obsessed. So for high school graduation, my parents took me there. We took a tour from Oslo to Bergen and I am just dying to go back :)

Can't wait to hear about your experiences!

Well, we met in Bergen yesterday, and had a wonderful evening together over dinner :) Meeta and her family are just wonderful people, and me, my husband and kids had so many laughs, and just couldn't stop talking. It was like meeting friends that you haven't seen for a long time :) I think we could have kept talking for hours and hours all seven of us! What a wonderful idea to meet, and so fun to be a bit spontaneous :)
