Monthly Mingle August 2008: Fruit & Chocolate

MM Fruit & Choc Logo Aug 2008

Thanks to lovely Sig for hosting the last session of the Monthly Mingle. Sig hosted a fantastic summer fun mingle with Grill it! You can check out the roundup on her blog here.

Now it's time to unveil the theme and your challenge for August!

August is always bursting with the juiciest, ripest and sweetest of summer fruits. Peaches, berries, mirabelles, plums, apricots - the list goes on and on! I have to tell you the truth I have really been going crazy working and experimenting with all these fruits lately.

However, I realized one thing - all my creations and experiments was missing one ingredient - chocolate! And I am supposed to be a chocoholic?

As a matter of fact as I was deciding on the theme for this mingle, I browsed through my previous posts and realized I had not posted a chocolate recipe in a long time. Am I cured of my addiction? No - to remedy this quickly I decided to dedicate a whole mingle to chocolate, but so that we all do not miss out on the lovely fruit of August we'll be integrating a summer fruit of choice.

Join me in my August mingle! Create a chocolate dish packed with sweet summer fruit, or if you prefer - sweet summer fruit packed with chocolate. Let your imagination run wild and allow your creativity to unfold. I am looking forward to your wonderful fruit and chocolate dishes!

Deadline: 8 September 2008

Here’s how it works:

  1. Create a dish that fits the theme of “Fruit & Chocolate” as described above
  2. Post about it on your blog anytime from now until 8 September (entries must be in English, please).
  3. Link to this post and send the details to me (see below).

Once you’ve posted your dish, send an email with “Fruit & Chocolate” in the subject line to: meetasmingle (at) gmail (dot) com by 8 September with the following information:

  • your name
  • your location
  • the name of your blog
  • the name of your dish and a link to the relevant post
  • type of dish (e.g. Entrée, Sweet, Salad, Soup, Snack, Dessert etc.)
  • a copy of the main photo of your dish 200px wide (and compressed so that it is below 1MB!)

I request you to read through the guidelines above carefully. Following them will help me find your entries easily (if they land in the spam folder), categorize them correctly for the roundup and upload the pictures faster.

I really look forward to all your fruity and chocolaty creations - my mouth is already watering!
