Poppy Passion
Last week I went on a bike trip with Soeren and found a gorgeous Poppy field. Red and pink almost as far as the eye could see. It was an amazing sight. Luckily I had remembered to bring my camera with me.
Soeren picked a few to make a lovely bouquet for his teacher and I started shooting with my camera. A few men headed our way with mowers and tractors looked at me strangely, then they started their machines and began to cut the poppy field down.
It was a real shame but I still got a few nice shots. Thought I'd share one with you. Isn't summer just great?
Have a great Sunday!

Beautiful Picture,Meeta!Unfortunately, here it is all rain today and it is going to be like this for the next one week in London...:(
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Hope you got one of Soeren surrounded by them. My in-laws have a pic of my husband and one of his brothers in the middle of a poppy field near their house in Spain. It's one of my favourite pics.
ReplyDeleteHow sad that the field had to be mown flat!! A field of poppies is up there with a field of lavender in my opinion as a thing of great beauty. Thank you that you had your camera with you and that you could share that experience with us in the form of this beautiful red poppy photo.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely gorgeous picture Meeta. The picture brightened my day!
ReplyDeleteOh it really is a shame to mow the poppies down! I always think beauty like this should be left untouched, don't you think? I've seen poppies for real in Japan, but unfortunately the rain didn't do them quite the justice. Thanks for the beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteLove poppies! How strange to watch such beauty mowed down.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I'm glad you were able to get some pics before they started to mow the field.

What a lovely photo! I love the composition.
ReplyDeleteI 'rediscovered' poppies this summer. There are some beautiful yellow and orange poppies growing near my house, and on a recent trip I photographed some amazing dark red and purple, huge poppies! :)
I don't think there is a prettier flower than the poppy.
ReplyDeleteA field of them is a site!
Thanks everyone for your comments. I did get a few nice pics of Soeren in the field too and although it was a shame to see them mow the poppies down, I know next year they'll be there again!!
